Boutonnière - the ranunculus in the buttonhole

The botanical genus name Ranunculus is derived from the Latin word for little frog. Today it's a weed and is being fought in agriculture. Worn as a boutonniere is not important, but it is good to know - and in any case stylish and elegant.

The buttonhole - special features

In every flower there is an almost forgotten craftsmanship (not in the least comparable to products from Far Eastern countries). Plastic is not used; every flower is built up properly and not simply plugged together or glued on. Recipes up to a hundred years old are still used as the basis for fabric coloring.

The boutonnière in detail

  • Color: a soft white with a lime green sheen
  • Material: 100% silk
  • Size of the flower: approx. 4.5 cm in diameter, approx. 1.5 cm in height
  • Handmade in Germany | Handcraft from Germany
  • Each silk flower is unique; minor deviations are possible
  • Delivery with a high-quality gift box
  • Item number: 038WL

Care instructions: Protect from moisture and always store in the gift box provided. Every boutonnière box will exclusive by one of the oldest family businesses in Berlin, founded in 1869 as a hat box manufacturer, made in the Neukölln district.

Hersteller: Dt. Kunstblume Sebnitz, Neustädter Weg 10, 01855 Sebnitz, Deutschland, deutsche-kunstblume(at)sebnitz(dot)de

Boxes from Berlin

The boutonnière boxes are made for us by one of the oldest family businesses in Berlin, founded in 1869 as a hat box manufacturer, in the Neukölln district. High-quality fine cardboard boxes with tradition - in the fifth generation.

The archive

Here, carefully preserved for more than a hundred years, are the historical dies that are still used today. Each boutonniere is made by hand. Each boutonnière is unique and should be protected from moisture and rough hands.

The production

Handcraft from Saxony

There is old craftsmanship in every boutonnière - since 1834. Not to be compared with products from the Far East. No plastic. The flower is carefully constructed and not just put together or glued. Old original recipes serve as the basis for silk dyeing.
