Alfred Pilz
Finest handkerchiefs with tradition
Founded in 1920 in the Bohemian town of Hohenelbe, the mushroom handkerchiefs with their unmistakable company logo quickly became synonymous with cloth handkerchiefs finest workmanship.Cloth handkerchiefs by Alfred Pilz
"After the war, the company moved to Aalen, where it quickly became known for saying: 'Aalen cleans the world's nose' and 'With mushroom handkerchiefs, always a healthy nose length ahead.' The Mushroom Works merged with the Berlin traditional house Pellens & Loick (Pelo) - our gift boxes therefore illustratively refer to both companies. Weaving and sewing continued in Aalen until the 1980s, and today it takes place in a small manufacturing company in Hungary. Design, packaging, as well as the extensive ironing, folding, and laying are still done in Aalen."
