The original from Harry's Bar

Harry's Bar is a legendary institution that has left its mark on the world of literature, music, art, politics - and of course, drinking. Founded in 1911, Harry's New York Bar is, among other things, the birthplace of the Bloody Mary and was a popular meeting place for personalities such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Ernest Hemingway, Rita Hayworth, Jack Dempsey, the Duke of Windsor, Thornton Wilder, Marlene Dietrich, Humphrey Bogart and Coco Chanel. George Gershwin composed “An American in Paris” here.
