The different species can be found at altitudes above 1500 meters in South America. The range of this species stretches from Guyana and Venezuela in the northeast along the Andes over Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia to Peru. Occasionally these orchids also appear in European buttonholes of well-dressed men. Especially with tuxedos and tails.
In every flower there is an almost forgotten craftsmanship (not in the least comparable to products from Far Eastern countries). Plastic is not used; every flower is built up properly and not simply plugged together or glued on. Recipes up to a hundred years old serve as the basis for dyeing the fabric.
