The delicate purple carnation on the buttonhole
During the French Revolution, a red carnation was a symbol of the nobles who were guillotined. Since 1889 it has been shining as a buttonhole for socialism. And the purple carnation? This shines exclusively with us - a cooperation with Maximilian Mogg's Berlin studio. The stem is wrapped in black silk, so the purple buttonhole carnation is traditionally worn with "black tie" or "white tie", i.e. tuxedo and tails. Once the practical stem peeps out from behind the lapel, it remains virtually invisible.
The purple buttonhole carnation - special features
There is an almost forgotten craftsmanship in every buttonhole (cannot be compared in the least with products from Far Eastern countries). Plastics are not used; every flower is built up properly and not simply plugged together or glued on. Even today, recipes that are up to a hundred years old serve as the basis for fabric coloring.

Here, carefully preserved for more than a hundred years, are the historical dies that are still used today. Each boutonniere is made by hand. Each boutonnière is unique and should be protected from moisture and rough hands.
Handcraft from Saxony
There is old craftsmanship in every boutonnière - since 1834. Not to be compared with products from the Far East. No plastic. The flower is carefully constructed and not just put together or glued. Old original recipes serve as the basis for silk dyeing.
