Dark purple: the carnation on the buttonhole
The stem of the purple buttonhole carnation is also wrapped in black silk, so the boutonnière is traditionally worn with a tuxedo and tailcoat. Once it peeps out from behind the lapel, it remains virtually invisible.
The buttonhole carnation and its special features
There is an almost forgotten craftsmanship in every buttonhole (cannot be compared in the least with products from Far Eastern countries). Plastics are not used; every flower is built up properly and not simply plugged together or glued on. Even today, recipes that are up to a hundred years old serve as the basis for fabric coloring.

Handcraft from Saxony
There is old craftsmanship in every boutonnière - since 1834. Not to be compared with products from the Far East. No plastic. The flower is carefully constructed and not just put together or glued. Old original recipes serve as the basis for silk dyeing.
